What makes this more interesting is that it’s not just a pilot anymore. These are real payment corridors between Japan and parts of Southeast Asia.
A big part of this comes from SBI Holdings, which has been running XRP-based remittances since 2021. That gives the data some weight—it’s based on years of actual usage, not just theory.
At the recent XRP Tokyo 2026 event, the message was pretty clear: near-instant settlement and lower costs are no longer hypothetical. Compared to SWIFT’s processing times, which can stretch from hours to days, the gap is becoming harder to ignore.
There’s also been movement on the institutional side. The Bank of Japan has reportedly introduced an XRP-linked lending program aimed at facilitating payments between financial institutions. Taken together, it points to a broader shift in how XRP is being positioned within the financial system.
XRP Price Outlook: Momentum Building in Asia
From a technical standpoint, XRP’s chart looks relatively steady right now. It’s hovering around the $1.40 range, holding above both the 50-day and 100-day moving averages, which have effectively flipped into support levels.
The recent move up has been sharp enough that the 20-day average is still catching up, sitting lower around $1.28. Meanwhile, RSI remains neutral, suggesting there’s still room for further upside without the asset looking overbought.
Daily trading volume is still strong—hovering above $2 billion—which indicates that interest hasn’t faded. For now, the main level to watch is $1.50. It’s acting as a psychological barrier, and a clean break above it could open the door toward the $1.60–$1.70 range.
Some projections are becoming more ambitious as this narrative develops. On Binance’s community platform, analysts have floated a $5–$7 range over the medium term if adoption by Japanese banks expands further. Not long ago, that would have sounded overly optimistic—but with real-world usage growing, it’s being taken more seriously.
