Right now, XRP is in an interesting spot.
On the surface, things don’t look that exciting. The price is down about 2% over the past week, and the Fear & Greed Index sitting at 16 tells you sentiment is still pretty weak. But at the same time, there’s a growing sense that something bigger might be building underneath.
Some analysts think XRP could be getting close to a bottom — not necessarily the exact low, but the kind of zone where long-term positioning starts to make more sense.
What’s really stirring the conversation, though, is the return of those big, almost hard-to-believe price targets.
Financial commentator Jake Claver recently said XRP could reach $1,000 as early as 2026 if major institutions fully adopt Ripple’s payment infrastructure. He pointed to names like BNY Mellon, Fidelity, Citigroup, Franklin Templeton, and JPMorgan Chase as potential drivers if that scenario plays out.
A former Goldman Sachs analyst, Dom Kwok, has floated a similar target too — just on a longer timeline, pushing it closer to 2030 and tying it more to regulatory clarity and steady institutional inflows.
Then there’s a more grounded take from Vandell, who basically argues that in a world where fiat currencies keep losing value over time, price ceilings become less meaningful anyway. In other words, it’s not just about how high XRP goes — it’s also about what a dollar is worth by then.
That’s really the backdrop here. Even though the short-term charts look a bit tired, the bigger picture still has some bullish ingredients: a softer dollar, more institutional infrastructure being built around crypto, and ongoing expansion from Ripple itself.
Looking at the chart, XRP is currently sitting around $1.32, which is below its 50-day average of $1.40 — not the strongest signal. Momentum is pretty neutral too, with RSI around 43 and only a handful of strong green days recently.
There’s decent support around $1.30, which is why price keeps hovering there. On the upside, $1.60 has been acting like a ceiling. If XRP can break back above $1.40 and hold it, that’s when things start to look more constructive again — and you could see a move toward the $4–$5 range over time if momentum builds.
But the $1,000 question is where things get tricky.
At today’s supply, that kind of price would imply a market cap in the tens of trillions — which is why a lot of people dismiss it outright. Still, the counterargument is that markets don’t exist in a vacuum. If the broader financial system shifts, and if crypto plays a much bigger role globally, the benchmarks we use today might not apply in the same way.
So the real takeaway isn’t that XRP will hit $1,000 — it’s that the range of outcomes is wider than people think.
In the near term, though, XRP is still doing what large-cap assets usually do at this stage of the cycle: moving slowly, consolidating, and testing patience.
That’s also why some traders are starting to look elsewhere.
When an asset already has a massive market cap, even doubling requires huge amounts of capital. Compare that to early-stage projects, where smaller inflows can have a much bigger impact on price.
One example getting attention is Bitcoin Hyper, a project trying to build a Layer 2 on Bitcoin with faster execution and smart contract functionality. The idea is to bring more flexibility to Bitcoin’s ecosystem, which has traditionally lagged behind in that area.
It’s still early, and like any presale, it comes with higher risk. But that’s the trade-off — higher uncertainty, in exchange for potentially higher upside.
For now, XRP sits somewhere in the middle: not weak enough to ignore, not explosive enough (yet) to dominate the market — but definitely not out of the conversation.
