Ethereum is seeing a surge in buyers over sellers, with a $104M gap—the largest imbalance in three years

Ethereum is starting to turn heads again. After bouncing off the $2,000 support level, ETH has climbed about 5% to trade near $2,140—and the momentum is hard to ignore.

What’s really catching attention isn’t just the price move, though. There’s currently a $104 million gap between buyers and sellers—the biggest imbalance seen in the past three years. That kind of divergence usually signals that something bigger could be building beneath the surface.

Crypto analyst Ted Pillows had previously warned that losing the $2,000 level could trigger a sharp cascade down to $1,980, $1,800, or even $1,500. Instead, Ethereum held steady and pushed higher, reigniting bullish sentiment and opening the door for a possible move toward $2,400. Even spot ETF flows are showing signs of strength for now.

Of course, broader macro pressures haven’t disappeared. But Ethereum still has strong fundamentals working in its favor—especially continued growth in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and expanding Layer-2 adoption, both of which are helping support demand.

Can Ethereum reach $2,400 this April?

Right now, ETH is hovering around $2,140 after today’s gains. But the real level to watch is $2,200. Analysts say a strong four-hour close above that mark could completely invalidate the current bearish structure and shift momentum decisively upward.

If that happens, the next targets sit between $2,400 and $2,600. The 50 EMA, currently near $2,500, could act as both resistance and a magnet if bullish momentum builds.

On the flip side, if Ethereum drops back below $2,000 and closes there on a daily timeframe, it could trigger another round of liquidations—potentially dragging the price down toward $1,800 or even $1,500.

For now, volume will be key. A convincing breakout above $2,150 with strong buying activity would tilt the market firmly in favor of the bulls.

Bigger picture: short-term vs long-term

Looking further ahead, forecasts remain optimistic. Some models place Ethereum’s average price around $4,000 by 2026, with machine-learning estimates pushing closer to $4,350. Investment firm VanEck has even projected a long-term target of $11,800 by 2030.

Still, those projections won’t matter much if Ethereum can’t hold the $2,000 level in the short term. That remains the key battleground for now.

Where LiquidChain fits into the picture

Here’s the reality for ETH traders: even in a bullish scenario, a move to $2,600 represents less than 30% upside from current levels. That’s solid—but not explosive.

That’s why some investors are also looking at earlier-stage opportunities within the ecosystem.

One example is LiquidChain ($LIQUID), a project aiming to connect liquidity across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana through a unified Layer 3 infrastructure. The idea is to simplify cross-chain execution in a market that’s still highly fragmented.

So far, its presale has raised over $640K, with tokens priced around $0.014. The platform is built around features like a unified liquidity layer, single-step execution, and the ability to deploy across multiple chains at once.

As institutional interest in Ethereum grows, projects like LiquidChain are positioning themselves to ride that same wave—potentially offering higher risk, but also higher upside. Early participants are also being drawn in by aggressive incentives, including staking rewards as high as 1700% APY.

Overall, Ethereum is at a critical moment. The technical setup, order flow, and fundamentals are all aligning—but the next move depends on whether key resistance levels break or support gives way.
